Rory McIlroy will skip the Masters par 3 contest this week.
The Northern Irishman has described the prelude to the tournament proper as "too much hassle" as he tries to win the green jacket for the first time.
McIlroy's missed the par 3 event just once in seven appearances at
Augusta.
His best finish at the Masters came last year when he finished fourth.
