World No 1 golfer Lydia Ko will have to wait for her first major victory after a two-over 74 in the third round of the ANA Inspiration in California today has pushed her down the leaderboard.
The Kiwi began the day in a share of 30th but three bogeys anda birdie meant she never made up any ground as she ended the round in a share of 48th at two-over for the week.
"I didn't feel like it was too bad today," Ko said. "I just couldn't get the putts to drop."
Ko is 12 strokes back from leader Sei Young Kim (-10), who fired a three-under 69 during her third round. The Korean holds a three-stroke lead over American Stacy Lewis (-7). A trio of players are one back at six-under.
Despite all the accolades Ko has collected in her young career, the teenager is yet to win a major tournament.
The ANA Inspiration is the first major of the year and she will have four more opportunities in 2015.
Ko leads the Race to the CME Globe Standings, which is the season-long points race on the LPGA Tour, but Lewis could make a run at the top spot if she was to win this week and Ko finished far enough down the ladder.
