Golf: Kiwis to the fore after three rounds of the NZ Open

Kiwi golfer David Smail has a three shot lead after the third round of the New Zealand Open at The Grange.

Smail has fired a one under par 69, to be seven under for the tournament, three strokes clear of a group of three, which includes fellow kiwi Steve Alker, who also carded a one under par 69.

Greg Turner is five shots off the pace at two under, while kiwi number one Michael Campbell has fired a four under 66, to be one under for the championship.

Sir Bob Charles and Canterbury amateur Eddie Lee are also at one under par.
