American golfer Kelly Kraft has pulled off one of the more ridiculous shots in recent times to save an unlikely par at the John Deere Classic in Silvis, Illinois.
On the 531-yard par-5 17th hole, the 28-year-old shanked his first shot of the hole horrifically, to the point where hisball landed on the ledge of a hospitality structure located far away to the left of the fairway, about 330 yards from the hole, only 188 yards from the tee.
In comparison, Kraft had earlier whacked his drive 310 yards to the centre of the fairway on the 561-yard par-5 2nd hole, and managed to score a birdie, while on Friday, he made par on the very same 17th hole after sending his tee shot 277 yards to land on the edge of the fairway.
The 2015 Chitimacha Louisiana Open champion needed to produce something special with his second shot if he had any chance of salvaging anything from the hole.
In an unlikely piece of golfing brilliance, Kraft smacked his iron off the hospitality structure and over the trees to land tha ball 233 yards closer to the hole in a manageable piece of rough next to the fairway.
From there, the Texas native nailed the approach shot before slotting the putt to redeem himself for his horror start to the hole.
Despite his impressive comeback shot, Kraft currently sits well down the leaderboard, tied for 62nd at five under par heading into the fourth round, 11 shots behind leader Patrick Roberts.
