Golf: Gil through to next stage

Waikato professional James Gill is through to the second stage of European Tour qualifying in Spain after finishing in 18th on 15-over at the Dundonald Links in Scotland.

Gill had rounds of 77 and 76 to progress to the next stage in November.

Four courses in Spain will host the next stage of European qualifying from November 26-29 before the final stage in December where 30 players plus ties will win a Tour card for next year.
