Christchurch man Tony Davies beat odds of 67 million to one when he notched two holes-in-one in the same round on Saturday.
Davies, who plays off a 21 handicap, achieved his feat at the McLeans Island Golf Club, near Christchurch, last Saturday.
Davies knocked his aces home on the 131-metre
par-three second hole and on the 142m par-three 17th.
Davies thought the ball had gone past the pin on the second hole but after a short search on the fringes of the green, found the ball in the hole.
He told the Christchurch Press he hit a better shot off the tee at the 17th, the ball bounced three times and must have hit the flag before dropping into the hole.
" I was a bit stunned actually, quite speechless."
The club presented Davies with $100 for each ace.
"About $100 of that probably went back in over the bar," he said.
Waitikiri Golf Club professional Peter Davis said he had heard of New Zealand golfers sinking two holes-in-one in a single round.
"I've heard of it locally once and I heard of somebody doing it in Wellington."
On the US PGA tour, two aces in the same round were recorded by Japan's Yukio Miyazato in 2006 and American Bill Wheldon in 1955 according to the Fanhouse golf website.
In April, American professional Brendon Todd became the first player in the 20-year history of the second-tier Nationwide Tour to score consecutive aces on the same hole in his first and second rounds at the Athens Regional Foundation Classic tournament.
