Campbell's fired an even par 69, to end the day in a share of 15th place at six under the card.
He Is four shots off the leaders, Welshman Bradley Dredge and German Martin Kaymer.
Fellow kiwi Steve Alker also fired an even par 69, to be in a tie for 50th place at one under the card.
