Golf: Aussies to share one-shot lead in final round of NZ Open

Two Australians will carry a joint one-shot lead into the final round of the New Zealand Open tomorrow.

Fellow Australians Matt Jager and Aaron Pike each dropped shots on the final hole to slip to 14-under, while yet another Australian, former champion Brad Kennedy, is at 13-under.

The leading New Zealander is Tauranga golfer Josh Geary, who fired a 6-under-par 66 to get to 11-under for the tournament.

He will have to go low tomorrow to really challenge for the title but he is ultra-consistent at The Hills and has the ability to do something special.

Of the other New Zealanders, Jared Pender and Harry Bateman are at 9-under, and Joshua Munn and Mark Brown are at 8-under.

The Hills has been bathed in sunshine all day, and as a result the scoring has been extremely good.

Another fine day is expected tomorrow.
