The first of two World Amateur Team Championships gets underway tomorrow night with the womens Espirito Santo Trophy getting things underway in Dublin, Ireland.
Wenyung Keh (Auckland), Julianne Alvarez (Wellington) and Amelia Garvey (Canterbury) are set to tackle two of Irelands most famous courses in the Montgomery and OMeara Golf

Carlton House has also hosted three Irish Opens in the past and now gets the opportunity to have the worlds biggest amateur teams event in their backyard. They will also host the mens Eisenhower Trophy next week where Daniel Hillier, Denzel Ieremia and Kerry Mountcastle will play.
There is a record number of entries for the Espirito Santo Trophy (57) that our Kiwi girls will have to compete with if they are to become the first New Zealand team to win in the 72 hole stroke play competition where two of three players scores count each day.
The New Zealand team have finished runner-up twice in the past, once in 1982 in Switzerland and in 1990 when the Christchurch Golf Club hosted the event.
These players certainly have something to aim at with Lydia Ko, who represented New Zealand in 2012 at Gloria Golf Club in Antalya, Turkey, holding the individual 72-hole scoring record of 274.
