Consistent Ko ready for major championship

The third major championship of the 2018 LPGA Tour season tees off this Friday with the KMPG PGA Championship at Kemper Lakes Golf Club, featuring the best women golfers on the planet.

All the big names have come to play this week with the entire Top 100 on the LPGA money list in the field including 37 of the top 40 players in the Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings.

In the thick of it is New Zealands number one and world number 14, Lydia Ko who is aiming to capture her third major this week.

Playing in a star-studded group alongside Lexi Thompson and So Yeon Ryu, Ko will be looking to match them and more as she continues to impressive run.

With five top 10 finishes including that special victory at the Mediheal Championship, four of those top 10 results have come in her last six events, proving her consistency and poses a real threat this weekend.

Its never easy on the LPGA Tour and this field is no different featuring the last three winners of the championship including Inbee Park who won in 2015, Brooke Henderson who won in 2016 and Danielle Kang who is the defending champion.

The field also includes each of the 16 winners on the LPGA Tour this season and New Zealand will be hoping that number doesnt change and Ko captures her second title of the season.

Harry Bateman is playing on the Japan Challenge Tour at the Michinoku Challenge at the Minami Akita Country Club as he looks to cash in before a break, while Gareth Paddison and Ben Campbell are in Thailand for the Queens Cup this week on the Asian Tour.

Kieren Muir, Ryan Chisnall, Jonti Phillipson and James Anstiss step up at the Faleata Golf Course for the Samoan Open in a small field which gives them a chance to capture a maiden Australasian Tour victory.
