Golf: Norman into hallowed Hall

Greg Norman will be inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame tomorrow - just days after stepping off the US PGA stage.

Norman will become only the second Australian in the Hall of Fame, following five-times British Open champion Peter Thomson, who was elected in 1988.

The 46-year-old Norman gave up his Tour card voluntarily, choosing not to play in the last three tournaments on the circuit, which would have given him the minimum 12 he needed to retain full playing rights.

Norman admitted that his business empire - which has increasingly held more fascination for him than low scores - now dominated his day-to-day activities.
