Golf: Jae An gets 2nd shot

The young New Zealand golfer who last week lost the opportunity to play in a top United States junior golf tournament has been given another chance.

Jae An, a 14-year-old Rotorua schoolboy, won an American Junior Golf Association Championship qualifying tournament by four shots, but was disqualified for letting his father caddy for him.

It was the only qualifying tournament Jae An could gain entry to, but his sponsors, Taylormade and adidas, have now managed to get him into two American Junior Golf Association events in Texas this month.

If he qualifies, he will play in the championship on July 29.
