MELBOURNE - Australasian Order of Merit golf champion, teenager Aaron Baddeley, has been invited to play in next month's US Masters golf tournament at Augusta, his management has announced.
Baddeley, 19, successfully defended his Australian Open title in his home town of Melbourne in November.
He also won the Greg
Norman International in Sydney in a playoff against Spain's Sergio Garcia in February.
Baddeley is in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he is preparing for this week's Honda Classic tournament.
He is trying to win enough prize money to secure a US Tour playing card for 2002.
Baddeley, who turns 20 on March 17, will play seven tournaments on the US Tour this year, management spokeswoman Jenny Whelan said.
He will also play in the British Open in July.
Baddeley turned professional last November after playing in two majors, the US Masters and the British Open, as an amateur following his initial Australian Open win where he beat much higher-profile golfers, including Colin Montgomerie, Michael Campbell and former world number one Greg Norman
