Glenn Maxwell and Shaun Marsh are both in serious doubt for Australia's World Cup clash with South Africa after a brutal net session left them with injured arms.
Maxwell and Marsh were both sent for scans on their arms following a training session at Old Trafford, just two days outfrom the game.
Maxwell was first collected by a Mitchell Starc short ball, resulting in a blow to his right forearm. Marsh replaced him in the net, only to be struck down by a Pat Cummins ball that hit him on the right wrist less than 10 minutes later.
"The boys are off having an X-ray at the moment so we'll find out when we get the results," Langer said.
"Shaun didn't look too good to be honest so fingers crossed for him and I'm not sure about Maxi.
"(Marsh's injury) looked pretty bad, he got hit right on the end of the wrist so he looks in a pretty bad way unfortunately.
"Hopefully (Maxwell) will be okay. We'll have an X-ray and find out. Shaun looked worse than that."

It capped off a nervous hour for Australia, after Steve Smith hurt his finger fielding and Jason Behrendorff also needed minor treatment following a similar injury.
Both completed the session after being taped up and are in no doubt for Saturday's clash.
Marsh has played just two games on the tour but would have normally come into the side in the event of an injury to Maxwell.

If they are both out, Australia will likely need to call upon a replacement from the Australia A squad, who are five hours down the road in Brighton.
Matthew Wade has already blitzed the white-ball component of that tour, while the likes of Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head are also available. "That's why we had the guys over here, in case someone got injured," Langer said.
"We'll think about that when we get the facts … There are a couple of guys in good form.
"We'll be praying that they (Maxwell and Marsh) are not (out) for their sake and our sake but if they are we'll deal with it."
The injuries came after Australia had already confirmed they would not rest frontline quicks Starc and Cummins for the match, desperate to maintain momentum ahead of the finals.
