Soccer: Timely goal for Kingz

Michael Cartwright chose an ideal time for his debut goal in the National Soccer League, helping the Football Kingz to a deserved 1-1 draw with Adelaide City late last night.

Cartwright's goal came five minutes from the end, after the home side had gone ahead midway through the half.

The Kingz were well worth a share of the points, but it is likely to be too little too late for the Auckland side, who are unlikely to make the NSL playoffs.

They had two late chances to grab the win through Paul Urlovic, with a header and a strong shot at goal.
