The FFA would explore all options, including paying the Gold Coast players to play out the final month of the season.
Morrison said the Phoenix's preference was for Sunday's game to be played.
"Our preferred outcome is that the game goes ahead,'' Morrison told NZ Newswire.
"We've got a lot of momentum going at the club - it's been great, we've had two very good crowds of 14,000 plus and we're expecting that again on Sunday.''
Morrison said postponing the game could prove difficult for the Phoenix, third on the table but with a tricky run into the finals series with two away games in Melbourne before a final home match against league leaders Central Coast Mariners.
"That's a tough schedule for us, and we want to ensure we finish as high up the table as possible.
"A rescheduled game is not a good option. I think if we couldn't have the game, the next option is that there's a forfeiture and we got the points.
"But that's not a preferred outcome for us.''
