Soccer: Phoenix set to sign duo

The Wellington Phoenix are on the verge of signing two more players.

Dutch striker Maceo Rigters and Spanish midfielder Dani Sanchez are currently negotiating contracts for the upcoming A-League season.

Coach Ricki Herbert says they're keen to sign both players.

He says they'll continue the discussions this week and should have a couple of new faces at the club.

But another triallist, striker Billy Mehmet has left the club after failing to earn a contract.
