The chance of an all Wellington final in the 85th Chatham Cup is alive after Lower Hutt City were drawn away to Caversham and Miramar Rangers drew Central United at home in this morning's draw for the semifinals.
Lower Hutt's trip to Dunedin will produce a Chatham Cup final debutant.
Lower Hutt were defeated the last time they reached the final four in 2003 while Caversham are looking to break a semifinal hoodoo having lost at this stage five times, including four in the last six seasons.
Meanwhile, Miramar Rangers and Central United have ample experience of winning semifinals having played in nine finals between them and boasting four Chatham Cup titles apiece.
The two semifinals will be played on the weekend of August 4 and 5.
The final of the Chatham Cup is scheduled for August 26 at North Harbour Stadium but if there is no Auckland team involved, an alternative venue will be sought.
Last year's final between Wairarapa and Napier City Rovers was played in Palmerston North.
The last all-Wellington final was in 1971 between Western Suburbs and Wellington City at the Basin Reserve.
