BRUSSELS - Former Manchester United star George Best has issued a brutal assessment of David Beckham, listing an array of flaws he says keeps him from greatness.
"He cannot kick with his left foot. He cannot head a ball. He cannot tackle and he doesn't score many goals," Best said. "Apartfrom that, he's all right."
Best made the comments as he was being inducted into the International Football Hall of Champions yesterday.
Best was the star of the Manchester United team of the 1960s and was known for his dazzling dribbling skills and spectacular goals. He was the 1968 European soccer player of the year, the same season he led Manchester United to the European Cup.
Beckham was a key player in the Manchester United team that won the Premier League, FA Cup and European Champions' Cup last year.
