Well wonder no more, as this clip of Manchester United star Robin Van Persie and friends puts the issue to bed once and for all.
It was taken from Van Persie's own freestyle
tournament in Rotterdam, where he took it upon himself to humiliate some children with a series of deft flicks, outrageous turns and maddening nutmegs.
He was joined by Sparta Rotterdam's Karim Touzani and Tonny Vihena of Feyenoord, with every movement of the ball greeted with raucous delight by the watching crowd.
The tricks were a joy to watch, but unfortunately the match finished in a 0-0 stalemate.
