ATHENS, Greece (AP) Panathinaikos could not hold on to its early lead and ended up with a 1-1 draw at Apollon in the Greek league on Saturday.
Marcus Berg opened the scoring for Panathinaikos in the sixth minute with a volley off Nikos Karellis' cross, and Thanassis Panteliadis, whocame in at halftime, equalized in the 47th with his first touch, a header off a corner kick.
The draw kept Panathinaikos in fourth place, a point behind third-place Atromitos, which drew 1-1 at Platanias, and 13 points behind league leader Olympiakos, which hosts Ergotelis on Sunday.
Apollon moved to 16th place, third from bottom, and gained its first point under new coach Lawrie Sanchez.
