Soccer: Gullit to lead World Cup bid

Former European player of the year Ruud Gullit has been appointed president of the bid committee seeking to stage the 2018 or 2022 World Cup in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Gullit, who will be a broadcaster for ESPN at this year's tournament, will lead bid delegations throughout the world as the prospective joint hosts seek to build support ahead of Fifa's December 2 vote.
