Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has upset the club's new sponsors Adidas by wearing a Nike shirt.
On the same day Adidas started their record breaking £750 million shirt deal with the English giants, Rooney posted a picture on his Facebook page wishing happy birthday to United's new signing BastianSchweinsteiger.
The pair both appeared in the picture wearing the club's old Nike training shirt.
Rooney is personally endorsed by Nike and Adidas officials are reportedly unhappy with the timing of the picture he uploaded.
The England captain celebrated Schweinsteiger's 31st birthday with the caption: "Happy Birthday to Bastian Schweinsteiger. Have a good day mate!"
Life as Manchester United's new shirt sponsor hasn't been ideal for the German sportswear giant, who've already been under fire for releasing a new home shirt that's been branded as "sexist" and "discriminatory".
