All White Marco Rojas has been loaned out to German second division club Greuther Furth for the 2014-15 season.
The 22-year-old midfielder is contracted to Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart, but after an injury plagued debut season last year where he broke a metatarsal in his first training session, he failedto make an impact.
Rojas had a strong pre-season with Stuttgart, scoring a hat trick in a pre season friendly and remaining injury free, but club management decided his development will be best served with regular gametime in the second tier of the Bundesliga.
"Today I signed a loan deal with SpVgg Greuther Fürth," Rojas posted today on his Facebook page. "I'm excited and look forward to the new challenges ahead! Thank you for the continual support, positive comments and messages."
Rojas is expected to make his debut for Furth on Monday against Ingolstadt.
Furth president Helmut Hack said: "We have long thought about what type of striker we need to complement our attack. Marco is very fast, agile and a goal threat. We are now even more variable in our ways."
Furth coach Frank Kramer went and watched Rojas play before agreeing on the loan deal.
"I wanted to once again get a feel for Marco," Kramer said.
"He has, physically, made a very solid impression. He is lively, fast and scores goals. The VfB has worked well with him. We are not dreamers and know that Rojas' class has not yet been demonstrated to the Bundesliga. But the boy has enormous potential."
