Star All Whites striker Chris Wood is on the move again, with Leeds United confirming his signature on a four-year deal.
Since moving to England by joining West Bromwich Albion in 2009, Wood has played for 10 sides, with seven loan appearances coupled with transfers to Leicester City and nowLeeds.
By joining Leeds, Wood will be getting game time in the second-tier Championship, where he has scored 37 goals in his short career to date. The 23-year-old earned promotion to the Premier League with Leicester last season, scoring his first ever Premier League goal off the bench against Everton.
However, he only played four games before being loaned back down to the Championship with Ipswich.
Wood finalised a four-year deal with Leeds this afternoon, after Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly pulled out of the race for his services.
"I think it's the right player at the right time," said manager Uwe Rosler. "That sort of player with proven Championship quality is rare. "I'm very happy that we've got him. I think it's the right player at the right price, at the right stage of his career. There was competition from other clubs."
"We presented to his agent and his parents the best possible way for him and we convinced him that Leeds United is the best move for his career because he has to find a home where he gets regular first-team football."
