On May 12, All Whites coach Anthony Hudson will name his squad for the upcoming 2016 OFC Nations Cup in Papua New Guinea. Who is in the mix to be in the 23-man squad? Jason Pine updates the All Whites Power Rankings (previous position in brackets).

1. (1) Winston Reid (West Ham United, England)
Not coming to the OFC Nations Cup, but New Zealand's best player by some distance. Will be greatly missed in PNG.

2. (2) Chris Wood (Leeds United, England)
Shaping as an absolutely crucial member of the New Zealand front-line and also the most likely skipper in Reid's absence.

3. (3) Themi Tzimopoulos (PAS Giannina, Greece)
A key member of Hudson's defence and match-hardened through regular game-time in Greece.

4. (4) Ryan Thomas (PEC Zwolle, Netherlands)
Encouragingly, played for the first time since knee surgery for his club's youth side over the weekend. His availability would be a massive boost.

5. (5) Kosta Barbarouses (Melbourne Victory, Australia)
Staying sharp through Melbourne Victory's Asian Champions League participation. Locked-in starting eleven member.

6. (6) Glen Moss (Wellington Phoenix, New Zealand)
The first-choice goalkeeper, even though he hasn't played for NZ since September 2014.

7. (7) Marco Rojas (FC Thun, Switzerland)
Involved regularly for his club side and undoubtedly capable of ripping defences to shreds.

8. (11) Michael Boxall (SuperSport, South Africa)
His pace, stamina and aerial ability will all be needed in PNG.

9. (8) Michael McGlinchey (Wellington Phoenix, New Zealand)
Plays every game when available for New Zealand and desperate to perform well for his country.

10. (10) Tom Doyle (Wellington Phoenix, New Zealand)
A potentially career-defining tournament for a player who made big strides at club level this season.

11. (9) Andrew Durante (Wellington Phoenix, New Zealand)
Still no firm call on whether he'll return to the international fold or not.

8 of the biggest upsets in sport

12. (13) Ryan De Vries (Auckland City, New Zealand)
Got a good run-out against Island opposition in the OFC Champions League. Is certainly on the plane.

13. (12) Tommy Smith (Ipswich Town, England)
Would be in the top three on this list if available for OFC Nations Cup. Likely he won't be.

14. (19) Clayton Lewis (Auckland City FC, New Zealand)
A stand-out in the OFC Champions League, including contributing on the scoresheet. Bang in form at the right time.

15. (27) Jeremy Brockie (SuperSport, South Africa)
Easily the most in-form New Zealand striker anywhere in the world, but out of favour with Hudson.

16. (14) Kip Colvey (San Jose Earthquakes, USA)
Loaned out to an affiliate club, but still appeals as a strong right-back contender with Storm Roux injured.

17. (15) Stefan Marinovic (SpVgg Unterhaching, Germany)
Definitely in the goalkeeping mix and pushing Moss hard for the number one spot.

18. (20) Hamish Watson (Wellington Phoenix, New Zealand)
Has secured a full-time deal in Wellington and pushing hard for a first-time All Whites call-up.

19. (17) Louis Fenton (Wellington Phoenix, New Zealand)
Energy and versatility could be important in the heat of PNG.

20. (25) Te Atawhai Hudson-Wihongi (Auckland City FC, New Zealand)
Strong performances in the OFC Champions League have thrust him into contention for a holding midfield role.

21. (16) Shane Smeltz (Sydney FC, Australia)
Short of recent game-time but a proven international goalscorer. May feature mainly from the bench.

22. (39) Jake Gleeson (Portland Timbers, USA)
Has seized his chance in the first team at Portland and presenting a strong case for inclusion as third 'keeper.

23. (18) Deklan Wynne (Whitecaps FC 2, Canada)
Started regularly under Hudson before eligibility saga but is carrying an injury with no return date confirmed.

39. (38) Kayne Vincent (Perlis FA, Malaysia)
40. (39) Cameron Howieson (St. Mirren, Scotland)
