Football: All Whites midfielder Ryan Thomas suffers injury blow at PSV Eindhoven

All Whites midfielder Ryan Thomas has suffered a massive setback after joining Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven.

The 23-year-old is set to miss most of the season after suffering a knee injury at training.

Thomas has told the PSV website he suffered the injury when he blocked the ball at training and after having scans it doesn't look good.

"It is not fun, but this also belongs to the life of a top athlete. In the coming days we will look at what the best plan is and then I will get to work," he said.
