Football: All Whites midfielder Ryan Thomas joins Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven

All Whites midfielder Ryan Thomas has been signed by the Dutch champions.

Thomas will leave behind PEC Zwolle, where he has played since 2013 to join PSV Eindhoven on a four-year deal.

The deal could mean Thomas plays Champions League football this season, with PSV in the play-off round to advance to the main draw.

The signing came just hours before PEC Zwolle's season opener, with PSV playing tomorrow morning.The deal is subject to Thomas passing a medical.

A move to a bigger club has been on the cards for Thomas for some time. He joined PEC Zwolle in 2013 and made 143 appearances for them.

"I think it's time to take the next step in my development," Thomas told PSV's website. "I learned a lot at Zwolle. The fact that I can now show what I have in store at a top club like PSV is fantastic."
