Manchester United was cut adrift in the Premier League title race after losing 1-0 at home to Everton thanks to Bryan Oviedo's late strike at Old Trafford today.
United manager David Moyes endured a frustrating evening against the club he left in the summer as left back Oviedo slotted homeat the far post in the 86th minute after Romelu Lukaku flashed a deflected shot across the six-yard box.
Everton deserved its win after overrunning United at times, even if the home side was unlucky to see Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck hit efforts against the goal frame in an end-to-end game.
United's 12-game unbeaten run was ended and the champions are now 12 points behind leader Arsenal on a night all of its chief title rivals won.
Meanwhile Luis Suarez put on a one-man show, scoring four goals in Liverpool's 5-1 win over Norwich - including two stunning strikes that were part of a first-half hat trick.
The Uruguay striker had Liverpool up 3-0 inside 35 minutes and opened the scoring with a spectacular long-range volley that looped over Norwich goalkeeper John Ruddy in the 15th. After doubling the lead in the 29th, Suarez produced a sublime solo effort six minutes later when he playfully chipped the ball over Leroy Fer before slotting a half-volley from the edge of the area inside the far post.
Suarez added his fourth in the 74th, before Bradley Johnson netted a consolation goal in the 83rd and Raheem Sterling finished off the rout five minutes later.
