Arsenal's woeful end to the season continued with a 2-1 defeat at Blackburn Rovers early this morning (NZ time), leaving them still uncertain of securing third place in the Premier League.
A point for the Gunners would have guaranteed third and an automatic place in next season's Champions League groupstage, but after Robin van Persie put them 1-nil up, they were overhauled by a more committed Rovers side.
Arsenal have 72 points with just Fulham to play at home on Sunday while fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur have 67 with two matches to play.
At the other end of the table, Hull City and Wigan Athletic drew 2-all.
The result confirmed Hull's relegation from the Premier League.
