Schweinsteiger banned after elbowing Winston Reid

Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger will be banned for three matches after accepting a charge of violent conduct for elbowing West Ham and All Whites defender Winston Reid.

The German international was charged by the Football Association after catching Reid with his left arm as they waited for a free-kick during the 0-0 draw on Sunday.

Referee Mark Clattenburg missed the incident but it was caught on video.
