Celtic goes 5 points clear in Scots title defense

GLASGOW, Scotland (AP) Celtic opened up a five-point lead in its Scottish title defense after beating Ross County 4-1 while nearest challenger Aberdeen lost 3-1 to Hearts on Saturday.

Doubles from Virgil van Dijk and Joe Ledley clinched a convincing win for Neil Lennon's side in the Scottish Premiership.

Aberdeen slipped to third behind Inverness following its loss to bottom-place Hearts.

Inverness moved two points above the defeated Dons with a 2-0 win at Hibernian.
