All Whites coach Anthony Hudson has refuted criticism from the Brisbane Roar over the Dane Ingham saga.
The Roar defender was sent home from the All Whites camp earlier this week, after failing to meet fitness guidelines, including a body fat test and a various conditioning guidelines.
The Queensland clubhas expressed disappointment over the decision, with their director of football Craig Moore saying the situation wasn't handled in a good way, while also suggesting there had been no clear fitness guidelines provided by New Zealand Football.
Hudson rejected those claims.
"I don't manage Brisbane Roar [but] everyone in this squad was very clear on the expectations of where they needed to be," said Hudson. "Everyone is responsible and Dane falls into the same category as everyone else. It's not my business what other clubs do and I've got nothing to say about that.
Hudson also confirmed there had been communication with the Roar since Ingham was dismissed.
All Whites' captain Chris Wood backed Hudson's stance, while also expressing sympathy for his former teammate.
"The gaffer spoke about it," said Wood. "The guidelines as players we have known for many [Fifa] windows, not just one window. We have known this for the last two years it has been talked about, it's been said and for us it obviously stops there. "
But Wood was also adamant Ingham's indiscretion would be a one off.
"It happens - you obviously let yourself go for maybe a couple of months..and that's it," said Wood.
"[Everyone] works extremely hard no matter who it is. Everyone is talking about Dane Ingham at the moment but he is a great player and he is a lad that works extremely hard. He will work hard to be back here and he will be back here because he has the right attitude."
