All Whites coach Anthony Hudson will shortly name his squad for next month's high-profile friendly internationals against Mexico and the USA, before home and away World Cup qualifiers against New Caledonia in November. Which players will get the call-up? Jason Pine updates the All Whites power rankings (previous position in brackets).

1. (1) Winston Reid (West Ham United, England)
Has played just twice under Hudson, but strong indications he will feature in the coming months. His presence would provide a massive boost to the side.

2. (2) Chris Wood (Leeds United, England)
Even at his young age, a driving force in the All Whites camp both on and off the field. Leads the line and is the epitome of the culture building in the squad.

3. (3) Ryan Thomas (PEC Zwolle, Netherlands)
Back playing regularly after a long layoff with knee surgery. Will walk back into the New Zealand starting eleven, such is his talent.

4. (4) Stefan Marinovic (SpVgg Unterhaching, Germany)
A standout at the OFC Nations Cup in PNG with a string of excellent performances which have edged him ahead of Glen Moss at the number one goalkeeper.

5. (7) Kosta Barbarouses (Wellington Phoenix, New Zealand)
In scintillating pre-season form for the Phoenix and New Zealand's most creative attacker.

6. (5) Themi Tzimopoulos (PAS Giannina, Greece)
A mainstay in the All Whites defence for the last two years and will hold his place even when Reid returns.

7. (6) Michael McGlinchey (Wellington Phoenix, New Zealand)
No-one has played more often for New Zealand under Hudson than the Phoenix midfielder. All Whites fans would love to see more from him, and may well do so in the next twelve months.

8. (10) Bill Tuiloma (Olympique de Marseille, France)
A regular at the OFC Nations Cup and someone who starts more often than not under Hudson. Long throw a bonus.

9. (16) Marco Rojas (Melbourne Victory, Australia)
A move back to the A-League will give him much needed game time. If he can recapture his form of 2012/13 and bring it into the international arena, he can still be one of New Zealand's brightest stars.

10. (NEW ENTRY) Storm Roux (Central Coast Mariners, Australia)
A fixture in the national side before injury ruled him out of the Nations Cup. Appeals as the long-term right-back for New Zealand.

11. (11) Kip Colvey (San Jose Earthquakes FC, USA)
Took advantage of the absence of Tom Doyle and Deklan Wynne in PNG to stake a claim for the left-back spot. Solid, without being spectacular.

12. (8) Michael Boxall (SuperSport, South Africa)
Versatility and pace will always see Boxall in the All Whites frame. In a battle with a couple of others for spots in central defence.

13. (9) Luke Adams (South Melbourne FC, Australia)
The surprise package of the OFC Nations Cup, playing every minute. Deserves to retain his place in the squad.

14. (14) Monty Patterson (Ipswich Town, England)
Industrious and energetic in his first outings for the national side. Well worth his place.

15. (15) Glen Moss (Wellington Phoenix, New Zealand)
Hasn't played under Hudson for two years and faces real competition from Marinovic to be the number one, number one.

16. (21) Clayton Lewis (Onehunga Sports FC, New Zealand)
Missed Nations Cup after positive test for Ventolin, but back playing after being handed the lowest possible penalty. Currently leading his country at the under-20 World Cup qualifiers and sure to be part of the senior side again.

17. (12) Rory Fallon (Truro City FC, England)
Completed a remarkable return from the international wilderness at the Nations Cup. Questions marks over the playing level of his current club, but none at all over his positive influence around the New Zealand camp.

18. (13) Sam Brotherton (Wisconsin University, USA)
Teamed up with Adams to repel almost everything thrown at them at the Nations Cup. Faces a battle to hold his spot in the starting side but did everything asked of him in PNG.

19. (NEW ENTRY) Henry Cameron (Blackpool, England)
Seriously injured on international debut last year against Oman, but showed more than enough to earn a recall.

20. (19) Shane Smeltz (Sydney FC, Australia)
Has featured just once under Hudson, but selected for Nations Cup before injury ruled him out. Still highly rated with plenty to contribute in a white shirt.

21. (18) Tom Doyle (Wellington Phoenix, New Zealand)
Illness put paid to his OFC Nations Cup campaign and has started just twice in Hudson's tenure. Faces stiff competition in the left-back position.

22. (17) Louis Fenton (Wellington Phoenix, New Zealand)
Dogged and determined with the added advantage of being versatile enough to play in several positions.

23. (22) Max Crocombe (Carlisle United, England)
Understudy to Marinovic in PNG, but yet to debut for the All Whites. Pushing hard (with others) for the third goalkeeping spot.

24. (20) Te Atawhai Hudson-Wihongi (Onehunga Sports FC, New Zealand)
Handed his international debut by Hudson last year. Best position is defensive midfield, but was also played as part of a back-three against the Solomon Islands in PNG.

25. (30) Deklan Wynne (Whitecaps FC 2, Canada)
Hudson is a fan of the skilful left-back who is now free of injury and eligibility doubts.

26. (23) Logan Rogerson (Wellington Phoenix, New Zealand)
Three All Whites appearances from the bench in Hudson's time in charge. Pacy attacker who needs a breakthrough season with his club.

27. (24) Matt Ridenton (Wellington Phoenix, New Zealand)
Battling with a number of others for a place in the squad. Ability to play fullback and midfield might help.

28. (25) Jeremy Brockie (SuperSport, South Africa)
A late inclusion in the Nations Cup squad, but couldn't significantly push his claims for continued involvement.

29. (26) Moses Dyer (Onehunga Sports FC, New Zealand)
A surprise inclusion for PNG in the eyes of many, but has now featured four times under Hudson.

30. (28) Luka Prelevic (Pascoe Vale SC, Australia)
Started three games at OFC Nations Cup without ever really imposing himself.

31. (29) Hamish Watson (Wellington Phoenix, New Zealand)
Provides a robust option in the attacking third.

32. (27) Ryan de Vries (Forrest Hill-Milford United, New Zealand)
Eligibility doubts ruled him out of recent selection and may yet need to be resolved.

33. Tamati Williams (RKC Waalwijk, Netherlands)
34. James Musa (St Louis FC, USA)
35. Tyler Boyd (Vitoria SC, Portugal)
36. Jake Gleeson (Portland Timbers, USA)
37. Alex Rufer (Wellington Phoenix, New Zealand)
