Fantasy Super Rugby: Round 13 Preview

In a week stacked with major injury announcements I'm keeping things simple with a list of players to buy, sell or hold on to despite flagging form.

The Bulls, Cheetahs and Chiefs are all on the bye this weekend while major injuries have hit stars Beauden Barrett, Jerome Kaino, Charles Piutau and Cobus Reinach so use the below information wisely.

BUY
George Moala, Blues, $144,900, CTW
With his criminal proceedings behind him, Moala should be set to shine even more than he has over the past three rounds (44ppg). A solid buy to make some cash over the next few rounds.

Jaco Kriel, Lions, $95,500, BRF
Kriel has averaged 44 points per game since Derick Minnie was ruled out for the season for the Lions. He's set to continue to get big minutes and should continue to increase in value as a result.

Akira Iaone, Blues, $93,300, BRF
With Jerome Kaino ruled out for the rest of the season, the chance is there for Iaone to prove himself as a Super Rugby full-timer. He's currently averaging 26ppg which, if he maintains it, should result in a nice profit down the line.

SELL
Richie McCaw, Crusaders, $50,000, BRF
With concussion symptoms plaguing him at present and two negative scores in his past three appearances, McCaw is a sell for the 10% of coaches persisting with the All Black captain.

Damian McKenzie, Chiefs, $64,800, FLB
McKenzie's seen his playing time dwindle over the past four rounds and, as a result, is averaging just under 3ppg. Until he finds a starting spot in a stacked Chiefs backline he's a sell.

Frank Halai, Blues, $94,100, CTW
As in 2014, Halai has cooled off in form right in line with the weather, averaging just over 7ppg over the last three rounds. Moala or Lolagi Visinia seem to be the outside backs to target in Blues camp.

HOLD
Cory Jane, Hurricanes, $95,700, CTW
Jane has struggled to find fantasy form over his past three appearances but the Hurricanes have a favourable finish to their season in which he could post decent points.

Tevita Kuridrani, Brumbies, $69,600, CTW
Kuridrani has shown some rust since returning from injury in Round 11 and his price is at a season low. Despite this, his outlook is still a great one as the Brumbies look to build towards a finals berth.

Sam Cane, Chiefs, $88,200, BRF
I'm expecting Cane to return to a 25ppg average to end his season, so do your best to hold on to him over the Chiefs' bye week this week and enjoy the profit to end the season.
