Two years ago Rob Cross was a fulltime electrician. Now he's a darts world champion.
The 27-year-old Englishman denied Phil Taylor from ending his career with a 17th world title following an emphatic 7-2 victory in London today.
It caps off a remarkable tournament and season for Cross who also
defeated defending champion Michael van Gerwen in the semifinals.
Cross was relentless throughout the final, dominating from start to finish to end the final with an average of 107.43 to Taylor's 102.26.
It was the first appearance at a world championship for Cross after failing to qualify last year.
