Dan Carter's wife Honor posts cryptic Twitter message: 'I refuse to be a shadow to my husband's life'

The wife of rugby star Dan Carter has posted a cryptic message on Twitter saying she refuses "to be a shadow to my husbands life".

The comment is accompanied by a close-up, black and white photo of Honor Carter's face.

The former Black Sticks player has two sons with Carter, Marco and Fox, and the family live in France where the sportsman plays for Paris' Racing 92 club.

The entire tweet read: "I refuse to be a shadow to my husbands life #watchthisspace"
A handful of people have replied to the 33-year-old's tweet.

One woman said: "As the saying goes behind every good man is a great woman ...... we all shine."

Another wrote: "And why should you be? You're talented, intelligent & beautiful! Go you."
The Carters married in 2011.
