This phenomenal line drop out during a New South Wales Country rugby league match at the Dapto Showground might just be the longest ever recorded.

Wollongong Collegians centre Ryan Turner certainly strikes it sweetly, with the ball travelling 90-metres before bouncing over the dead ball line.

"I can hit them 60 metres consistently but I just hit the sweet spot and it just sung," he told Sydney's Triple M radio.

Washington Wizards star John Wall teamed up with actor Liam Neeson to create a comical promo for the Christmas Day schedule.

Neeson telephones Wall to warn him that the New York Knicks were coming to beat the Wizards, and outlines the difficult challenge that awaits the point guard before he accepts the challenge.

Houston Texans defensive end JJ Watt's motto is "dream big, work hard" because that's what got him to the top of the NFL.

Watt appreciates those qualities in others too, and took to Twitter to share his admiration for a seven-year-old fan who is looking to follow in his footsteps.

Watt received a letter from the youngster, whose friends call him J.J. because he also plays defensive end and tight end.

Thinking long-term, the boy autographed his own jersey and sent it to Watt so he would have it when the kid eventually cracks it in the NFL, just like Watt.

Johnny Manziel had a rough start to his NFL career on Monday, with the Cleveland Browns quarterback throwing for just 80 yards and copping a relentless roasting from the Cincinnati Bengals.

Wallace Gilberry sacked Manziel in the first quarter and immediately mocked his famous "money" celebration.

Brandon Thompson followed suit later and Adam Jones also threw up the sign following an interception.

Linebacker Ray Mauluga took things up a notch when he mimicked the celebration right in Manziel's face, only to see him flagged for taunting.

Better luck next week, Johnny.
