Prince Harry greets Kiwi medalist at Invictus Games

Prince Harry presents Amy Baynes with her silver medal at the 2016 Invictus Games in Orlando, Florida

New Zealand claimed a gold, silver and bronze at the 2016 Invictus Games in Orlando, Florida this morning.

Rower Glen Barnes claimed gold in the Men's one-minute row, Amy Baynes picked up silver in the road cycling event while Nu Filo took bronze in rowing.

Baynes was presented with her medal by Prince Harry while celebrating her birthday after coming second in the road cycling finals on day two of the Games.

The prince took to the Twitter to congratulate Baynes, posting an image of the two on the Kensington Palace's Twitter account.

The Invictus Games are an international Paralympic-style multi-sport event, created by Prince Harry, for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women from around the world.

Baynes, Chief Petty Officer with the Royal New Zealand Navy, qualifies for the event after injuring her hip and back while she was deployed in Afghanistan, resulting in a hip transplant and future surgery on four torn vertebrae in her back.

The inaugural games took place in 2014 in London, where Baynes won bronze medals in road cycling and powerlifting.

In the 2016 edition, currently being held in Orlando, Baynes is competing in archery, rowing, and shot put, as well as being apart of the New Zealand wheelchair rugby team.

This years Games features over 500 competitors from 15 invited countries, taking part in 11 different sports.

The 2017 Invictus Games is set to be held in Toronto, Canada.
