SYDNEY (AP) Tour de France stage-winner Pieter Weening has extended his contract with Australian pro cycling team Orica-GreenEdge until 2015.
The 31-year-old Dutchman joined Orica-GreenEdge in its inaugural year in 2012 after 12 years with Rabobank, where he won a stage of the Tour de France in 2005 anda stage of the Giro d'Italia in 2011 before claiming the Tour de Pologne earlier this month.
Weening said he enjoyed the flexibility at Orica-GreenEdge. "Doing my own thing helps me feel valued in this team."
