Olympic bronze medallist Simon van Velthooven won the keirin final at the Bike NZ Classic in Cambridge.
He edged out two-time world champion Shane Perkins from Australia to win the decider.
Van Velthooven was delighted with the win, saying it was nice to be back in a good international competition.
Meanwhile, fellow Kiwi Stephanie McKenzie won the women's keirin final.
Australians Scott Law and Ashlee Ankudinoff claimed the men's and women's omnium.
