The opening ODI between the White Ferns and Australia has been abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain.

New Zealand go into the now two-match series having lost their last 13 straight ODIs against Australia, dating back to 2017.

The T20 World Champions have struggled in the 50-over format of late, losing four of their last five series.
