KEY POINTS:
New Zealand scored a record 291 for six to win their second Quadrangular Series women's one-day cricket match by 19 runs in Chennai, India, overnight.
Sent in after England won the toss, all except one batter scored double figures, with player-of-the-match Sarah Tsukigawa finishing with an unbeaten 78 and Maria Fahey and Haidee Tiffen both scoring centuries.
The White Ferns' 291 is the highest score of any of the top four nations, the others being Australia and India, has scored against each, although it looked a long way from reality with six overs to go.
It was only after Tsukigawa and Nicola Browne No 8 (36no) opened their shoulders and added 88 runs in 55 balls that the scores climbed dramatically
New Zealand lost their first wicket (Suzie Bates, 12) in the sixth over with the score on 30 but a significant partnership followed between Fahey (50) and Tiffen (58). They added 71 runs.
When they lost their third an over later, it left two new batters at the wicket.
Tiffen and McGlashan (13) fell in quick succession in the 33rd over.
Aimee Mason (19) lasted seven overs in a 33-run partnership. Her dismissal brought Browne to the crease, and three overs later Browne and Tsukigawa set about destroying all bowlers.
Successive overs of 14, 16 and 20 were topped in the 50th over, with 21 runs.
Rebecca Ross, who scored an unbeaten century in New Zealand's six-wicket win over Australia in their opening match at the tournament, scored only 6. It was Tsukigawa's second unbeaten innings at the tournament after she was 42no against Australia.
The White Ferns started fielding in style, with Mason taking a catch off Louise Milliken to remove English opener Clare Atkins with the first ball.
Their second wicket fell shortly and England were 25 for two.
Then poor length by New Zealand bowler and some every aggressive batting threatened New Zealand's total, with Charlotte Edwards scoring 86, Claire Taylor 56 and Sarah Taylor 41 until Sarah Burke and Suzie Bates cleaned up to leave England all out for 272.
Burke took three for 42 and Bates and Milliken two each.
New Zealand play India, also unbeaten after two games, tomorrow night (NZ time).
