KEY POINTS:
Canterbury allrounder Amy Satterthwaite and Central Districts batsman Rachel Priest have been promoted to the New Zealand women's cricket team for tours of Australia and England in August.
The selectors today named a squad of 13 for the dual tour, with the party to be captained by Haidee Tiffen.
While Satterthwaite and Priest have earned selection for the first time, after appearing for New Zealand A last summer, the selectors chose to recall Beth McNeill, of Canterbury, for the Australian portion of the tour.
Allrounder Suzie Bates is unavailable for the Australian section, but will join the side in England.
Several players have made themselves unavailable for the England series, and the selectors will make several changes ahead of the tour there, which includes three Twenty20 internationals and six one-dayers.
"As well as Suzie's return, Rachel Candy will join the squad for the first time, while Selena Charteris and Sarah Burke of Canterbury will replace Maria Fahey and Sophie Devine, who have told us they are unable to make the tour," coach Steve Jenkin said.
The White Ferns will play one Twenty20 match and five one-dayers against Australia.
