New Zealand again went close but lost the five-match Rose Bowl women's limited overs cricket series when Australia triumphed by five runs in Brisbane yesterday.
The White Ferns lost the first two matches by one run and one wicket respectively but coach Steve Jenkin believes they can win the last two.
The fourth game is again at Allan Border Field on Thursday.
