New Zealand have held off naming an XI for their final World Cup pool match against Bangladesh until Adam Milne's shoulder injury is checked in the morning.
Mitchell McClenaghan and Kyle Mills are on standby as replacements with McClenaghan appearing the probable alternative.
Milne bruised the A/C joint of hisshoulder against Afghanistan. Captain Brendon McCullum would not make a definitive call on a replacement. He confirmed they'd err on the side of caution.
"We want to have a look at Milney [Milne] again in the morning; he's still a bit stiff and sore so we'll make a call on that."
Meanwhile, the gastro bug afflicting Kane Williamson, Daniel Vettori and Grant Elliott has subsided.
Vettori and Elliott trained yesterday while Williamson, the worst affected, returned to the nets this afternoon.
"We've had a little bit of all of injury and illness but most of the guys have been fine," McCullum said.
"Kane's here today hitting balls and it's hard to keep him down for long. He'll be indoors for a good three to four hours, knowing him. He seems fine. A couple of us older fellas wouldn't have minded what he had just to drop a bit of weight. Everyone else seems okay."
New Zealand have lost their last seven ODIs away against Bangladesh but McCullum said 'pay back' was not part of their motivation tomorrow at home.
"We're in the middle of an important tournament and Bangladesh is our next challenge. We've been playing some good cricket and we've got some big tests coming up. Tomorrow is no different. In our own conditions I'm confident we'll put up a good showing.
"For us it's just about winning, however you get that job done. We've had the ability to bowl teams out for under 200 and when we have batted first we've scored over 300. Some guys may be a bit light under hardened pressure in a game but that's a by-product of our success.
"We played a tight game against Australia and found a way to get across the line. We've got to take comfort from the performances we've stacked up."
