Cricket: Did Afridi really say the 'N' word?

Pakistan's mercurial star Shahid Afridi has set the social media world abuzz following an interview he gave to a cricket commentator.

Afridi was interviewed by Mark Nicholas during the innings break of Pakistan's recent match with Ireland in Adelaide.

At the end of the interview, Afridi thanked Nicholas by saying something that sounded like the word 'nigger'.

Although it's not clear what Afridi actually said, the video of the interview has gone viral.

The interview set off a storm on social media sites.

Afridi didn't help to clarify matters when he posted this confusing tweet about the interview.

Afridi and his teammates are preparing to meet Australia in the third quarter-final of the World Cup on Friday.
