Cricket: Nethula inclusion raises SA eyebrows

The inclusion of Tarun Nethula in the Black Caps squad for the second test against South Africa has the Proteas looking over their shoulders.

Eyebrows have been raised over the leg spinner being brought into the 14-man squad, with the Hamilton pitch not expected to have a lot of turn in it.

South African opener Alviro Petersen's wondering if they may have missed a trick.

Petersen says if the pitch is going to stay green, there doesn't seem much need for a leg spinner, but perhaps the Kiwis know something they don't.

The South African batsmen arent sure how to approach New Zealand pitches.

Petersen says it's hard to know how aggressive you can be on slower decks than he's used to.

Petersen says batsmen have succeeded playing patiently and hitting out, but he's more likely to take a cautious approach.

The second test starts tomorrow.
