Cricket: Canterbury women in final

Canterbury, with the considerable help of Central Districts, performed the miracle they needed to qualify for the State League national women's cricket final.

Canterbury will face defending champions Auckland in the final on Sunday in Auckland after Canterbury fought back to pip Wellington by a point to finish runners-up.

Canterbury had to win both their matches against Otago in Oamaru, which they did, but also needed Central to topple Wellington both days in Napier, which they also achieved.
