A heavy international cricket season in New Zealand means a treat for Wellingtonians.
More than half the tickets available for the first ODI to be played at the Basin Reserve in 10 years have been sold.
General manager commercial James Wear said a busy cricket season means they had thechance to go back to the basin for the ODI.
"There's a T20 at Westpac Stadium, there's an ODI against Australia there and there's a test match, so we want to give the Basin Reserve another go at short form cricket."
In that match, players like Adam Gilchrist, Andrew Symonds and Brett Lee thrashed famous Kiwi cricketers Stephen Fleming, Nathan Astle and Craig McMillan.
Since then the Basin Reserve has been used primarily for test and domestic cricket.
